As most of you know I moved to Atlanta in 2001 on a whim. I just felt overwhelmed with my life and the people that I had let into my life and I need to go somewhere to start over. This is not the first journey that I have made on a whim but definitely the longest one so far. I moved to Tampa, FL in 1991 and started over there. I have learned a few things by making these decisions that some called impulsive. I can survive any where in this world but not without costs. I have made friends that are dear to me and I think of them as family but we all know that there is no place like home. I want to thank all of my family for being there for me (Jo and Mom, you two know what I'm talking about) I know that no matter what, I have a home in Tn. if I need one. I love all of you and miss you.
When I first moved to Atlanta I was miserable. The traffic is horrible the people are strange there were so many different cultures, some that I had never had a thought of becoming acquainted with.
I started working at the second busiest Starbucks in Metro Atlanta in 2001 and I have to tell you that the experiences that I have had with this company are worth their weight in gold. I have learned to accept people just as they are (as long as they are not mean; I don't accept that from any sector, it's just not needed) I have worked with such a diverse group of people and learned something good about each of them, became friends with most of them, and have great respect for all of them.
I have meet a few celebrities while working at Starbucks, such as: Gary and Gail Rosington of the Lynard Skynard band, Whitney Houston and her daughter Chelsie, Ralph Sampson( NBA retired - Houston ), Otis Nixon, Keisha Cole, and my favorite Ana Maria, this lady is some sort of awesome, she ran for president of Brazil a few years ago and had to leave the country because of death threats made on her family. I admire her self poise and intellect so much and wonder why she would choose me as a friend.
That's all for tonight. God Bless.
